GNSS.asia India organised a two-day flagship event on the 17th & 18th November 2016 at Vivanta by Taj, Bengaluru. The conference brought together leaders in GNSS enabling the audience to engage in discussion with experts during panel sessions about opportunities for business in India. The setting also provided an environment for networking, bringing Justyna Redelkiewicz from the European GNSS Agency together with local industry.
An industry tour was attached to the session on the 17th of November encompassing visits to established GNSS players like Magnasoft, the BOSCH IoT Center, Accord Software & Systems and the ISRO GAGAN Centre in the Bangalore region.
The session was kicked-off by Justyna Redelkiewicz from the European GNSS Agency (GSA) with her presentation “Europe in the global GNSS market & opportunities for industrial cooperation”. Ms. Redelkiewicz, started by providing a status update of Galileo and explaining the role of the GSA in Europe’s GNSS. After the Coffee break Bobbie Kalra introduced Magnasoft, a 600 employee strong software and system developer and its new product Toggr. Toggr is a GNSS-based tracking platform that builds on the highly successful NorthStar child safety system that allows tracking children on their way to and from school.
Following the networking lunch, the session continued with a status update on the GAGAN navigation system and a glimpse into Indian receiver technologies. Finally, a panel discussion on GNSS receiver developments and challenges in India, moderated by Rainer Horn concluded the EU-India Industry Seminar.
